On Wednesday 5 June, Samsic Group's management team formalised the Group's new sports partnership with Lyon Olympique Universitaire Rugby (a French rugby union team more commonly known as "LOU Rugby"). The announcement was made during the opening of Samsic Facility's south-eastern regional management team's new premises. The partnership means a five-year shirt sponsor commitment for Samsic.

The idea for the partnership grew from an encounter between three men: Olivier Ginon, GL Events CEO, Christian Roulleau, Samsic Group Founding President and Thierry Geffroy, Samsic Group CEO.

The three men soon realised they shared joint interests, including their passion for sport.

"It didn't take Olivier Ginon long to convince us to join him as LOU Rugby's partner", said Thierry Geffroy.

"South-east France is a highly dynamic region. Our businesses and markets are rapidly developing and we understand the growing local importance of rugby. This partnership is the perfect opportunity to bring our teams together and share memorable moments with our customers. We didn't even need to think twice about it."

The importance of long-term commitment

As Samsic knows only too well, long-term commitment is vital for both sporting and business performance.

This new partnership is Samsic Group's third major sports partnership.

Since 2004, the Group is Stade Rennais Football Club's main sponsor and in 2017, became co-partner of Brittany's cycling team, Arkéa-Samsic.

Samsic Group's strategic choice of communicating via sports sponsoring means that the Group's joint values, such as the quest for performance

, excelling oneself, team spirit and pushing one's limits, may be shared.
