[Samsic Pologne] La fondation AJKUM lance le projet "Samsic for Ukraine"

The Anna and Joseph Kumerek Foundation, AJKUM, was founded in 2018 on the initiative of Agnieszka Stefanowska, President of Samsic Poland. Its main mission is to provide help and support to people with serious pathologies, including cancer. This help is aimed at Samsic Poland employees of various nationalities, their relatives, their families, but also at those who are not connected to the company, who are also affected by the disease.

AJKUM fights against inequality in access to and rights to medical treatment and works to increase comfort in the fight against the disease.

There is also a broader objective to promote solidarity at local level, for example by providing support to the elderly or people with disabilities.

The foundation together with SAMSIC POLSKA recently launched the "Samsic for Ukraine" project, an initiative whose actions are supported by the Samsic Group. The financial contribution provided by the parent company has already enabled the following assistance plan to be implemented:

• 15 people have benefited from the support of AJKUM in the transport from Korczowa to Katowice and 2 in the transport from Krakow to Katowice.
• 67 parcels containing food, medicines, hygiene items, clothes, duvets, pillows, bedding, sheets, towels and even prams and cradles were distributed to the families of needy employees of Samsic Poland.
• 102 people who arrived in Poland from Ukraine were provided with accommodation in 32 localities.
• Two allowances were granted, enabling some families to move into their own flats.

Within the framework of the "Samsic for Ukraine" project, the AJKUM Foundation also ensures that nurseries and schools can accommodate the children of refugees and organises the recruitment of new arrivals to support their integration.

The Foundation supports the entire aid programme for Ukraine by organising the daily collection of donations in kind at its headquarters.
