In the first quarter of this year, Italy recorded an unemployment rate of over 10%. A worrying figure, especially given that the ban on redundancies has been removed for the largest companies on 1 July, and could lead to almost one million additional job losses. The Italian government and the European Union are therefore putting in place solutions to preserve jobs and make the process of hiring easier.
Our Italian subsidiary IG Samsic HR, specialising in human resources, is one of the few companies in the private sector to be recognised for contributing to the "Active Employment Policy" in the Lombardy region. The aim of this scheme is to promote the employability of people who might not be on the labour market yet: people with disabilities, young people looking for their first job, people undergoing career changes, etc.
In this respect, IG Samsic HR agrees to support local people in their job search by carrying out skills assessments, to then offer them appropriate training in line with their professional project. No less than 6 IG Samsic HR agencies are actively involved in facilitating the recruitment of hundreds of people in companies from all business sectors and therefore contributing to their return to employment. At the same time, IG Samsic HR also intends to support around 30 entrepreneurs this year in setting up their business, and around 40 people with disabilities or facing serious difficulties in finding a job.
